New Sheffield Summer Five & Six a Side Leagues

Dronfield Monday Six a Side League

The first season of the BOTNL Dronfield Six a Side League came to a conclusion last night at Gosforth Sports Association. MGM Galacticos went into the game needing to avoid defeat to pick up the league title.

Pipe Town Wanderers were top of the league going into the final week but had completed their fixtures a week earlier.

Pipe Town ended the season unbeaten having won 7 of their 9 matches and drawing the other two.

Wickersley School and Sports College on Bawtry Road, Rotherham is a sports specific school/college with over 2000 students.

As part of its commitment to community exercise we have agreed to start two new Five a Side League on the venues 3G astroturf pitches starting at the end of April.

The leagues will be played on both a Monday and Thursday evening. The Monday league will be played between 8.00 – 10.00pm and the Thursday league will be played between 6.00 – 8.00pm.

Ipswich Town footballer gave a skint fan two tickets this weekend after striking up a conversation on twitter.

The fan contacted Tyrone Mings on twitter to wish him luck for the game and stated he wished he was there followed by #skint.

Mings left the tickets at the Portman Road gate for the fan and added “you shouldn’t miss a game cos you cant afford it”.

Mr Monk the fan who received the tickets said he often tweeted Ipswich players on match days to strike up a conversation and wish them luck, but he didn’t anticipate a response.

Wisewood Sports Centre is a sports and physical facility based in the S6 area of Sheffield, off Laird Road, it provides exercise classes, fitness gym and sports clubs to help people stay fit, active and healthy.

As part of its commitment to community exercise it is in the process of finalising a brand new 3G artificial pitch. The project has been run in conjunction with Sheffield City Council and the Football Foundation.
